Waves
Crashing I know inside and out
Her eyes reflecting the cobalt about
She stands next to me
The same smile playing throughout.
My hair running free
Sharp drops biting from the sea
The tide soft and slow
Soothing and numbing till my knees.
Hot sand buried deep like snow
The water thick and slow
Wind whistling, light as a feather
Vivid yellow against the azure sky aglow.
The ocean is a treasure
It cannot always be, however
Because nothing lasts forever
Because nothing lasts forever.
